Boredom:
Boredom.
You need it.
Sitting there.
Nothing to do.
Staring at the world.
Just you and your thoughts.
It’s scary.
It’s unsettling.
We always need to be distracted.
Always needs to be on our phone.
The need to scroll.
To monitor.
To believe that we’re connected.
Connected to the world.
Understanding the world.
Seeing the world.
Meanwhile, we’re just a pawn.
An ant.
A spec of sand.
We don’t matter.
We think we do.
We think our lives are so important.
They’re not.
You could disappear tomorrow and the world would move on.
Your family and friends wouldn’t.
But the world would.
The world doesn’t care about you.
Never has.
Never will.
Everyone is just living their own lives.
Doing their own thing.
Trying to survive.
Trying to make the most out of life.
But we’ve gone away from boredom.
We’ve gone away from just sitting there.
Letting our mind wander.
Letting our subconscious take over.
Letting god speak to us.
We’re too distracted.
We’re too caught up.
Too focused on the meaningless.
Focused on things that don’t matter.
That are so far away from us.
That don’t change the course of our lives.
Social media companies have made it such that you have to care about every problem in the world at all times.
You don’t.
But it’s hard to step away.
To stop staring at your screen.
To not fill time with endless scrolling.
These companies have destroyed our brains.
Destroyed our minds.
Destroyed our souls.
We’ve become mindless robots.
Addicts constantly looking for the next high.
The next funny video.
The next hilarious meme.
The next interesting observation.
We need to stop.
To be bored.
To be with just our thoughts.
It’s hard.
It’s scary.
The deck is stacked against you.
These companies have spent billions of dollars to ensure you’re always engaged.
Always scrolling.
Always checking.
Turn off your notifications.
Put your phone in another room.
Don’t take your phone with you when you go out.
Be alone.
Be by yourself.
Be with your thoughts.
That’s where you tap into your inner voice.
Your intuition.
Your subconscious.
You can’t understand how your mind works if you don’t take time to learn about it.
To watch it.
To observe it.
Meditate.
Please.
So much science and evidence has come out about how amazing it is.
It’s nothing more than observing.
Than watching.
Than getting out of your own head.
Watch your mind.
Watch your thoughts.
Watch the world around you.
Be present.
Focus on your environment.
Focus on your breath.
Focus on your mind.
Let your mind wander.
Let god speak to you.
See what you come up with.
See how creative you become.
You only discover your inner creativity through silence.
Through letting your mind wander.
Through boredom.
Be bored.
