Day 1238 - Feb.16.22 - Expect the road to be hard

The road doesn’t get easier. The more eyeballs, the more perceived pressure their is to perform. To live up to what you’ve done in the past. To outshine yourself again and again. The thing is you never know when that will happen. You don’t know how many people will respond to your work once it’s out there. Pieces you may have thrown away may be loved while those you enjoy may be disliked. That’s ok because you can’t control any of that. You can only control the work you do and the effort you put in. Fail enough times and you’ll eventually hit on something. I’ve failed a lot in my life and had some pretty big ones as well. I’ve also had major successes, partly driven by my work but mostly luck. Yet I still feel like a fraud. With even more eyeballs, that feeling never gets better. So ignore it. Be aware of it but ignore the opinions of most people and focus on being better every day. Do a little bit more. Give a little more. Work a little harder. Delay your satisfaction while being happy with the journey you’re on. You’ve adapted to many situations in your life. This next step will be no different. Expect the road to be hard, but that’s the point. Enjoy it all along the way!
