How impermanent is success?

How impermanent is success?

What defines success?

Is it mostly outwardly things?

Money?

Fame?

Status?

Nice things?

Or should it be inwardly things?

Peace?

Happiness?

Fulfillment?

Purpose?

Why are we constantly chasing things?

Constantly striving to do more, earn more, be more?

To who?

So everyone can look at us?

And be jealous of us?

For what?

For our perceived success?

But what if our family hates us?

What if we have no relationships with our kids, parents or friends?

What if we’re constantly stressed trying to put on a face?

Keeping up with an identity we don’t even like?

What if we’re unhealthy and constantly take pills to stay ‘normal’?

Waiting for the weekend so we can numb our mind with substances to get out of our mind?

Is that success?

What if after so many years, you realize none of that stuff even matters?

Because success is all personal.

Outwardly success is impermanent but inwardly success is what you should chase.
