One day:

One day.

One day can make all the difference.

It can change your life forever.

One moment.

One interaction.

Meeting that friend.

Bumping into that person.

Going to that one party.

One day can change everything.

Watched this show on Netflix called ‘One Day’

Heard this quote in the show from ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens.

Imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would’ve been. Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on that memorable day.

One day can make all the difference.

It’s done for me many times over.

Chose to go to university in Scotland because a high school friend mentioned it in passing.

Got a 1st class degree because of a chance encounter at a party with someone a few years ahead of me.

Got into venture after spending a morning cold emailing people.

Discovered Think and Grow Rich from a random stranger in a hotel lobby in Costa Rica.

Wrote 2 books because a random person commented on my LinkedIn post.

Met one of my best friends when I was 3 because we were put in the same daycare and now I’m going to his wedding.

All of our lives are shaped by one day.

One moment.

One chance encounter.

Seeing the journey for Emma and Dex was something I won’t forget.

It’ll take you on an emotional rollercoaster like no other.

Great characters.

Awesome writing.

Fantastic premise.

So many what-ifs.

The story of friendship.

And love.

And heartbreak.

And growing up.

And having kids.

And pushing people away.

A story that moves you.

And feels too real.

We’re all going to go one day.

Even those we love.

It’s hardest when they’re gone.

Not here anymore to hold or laugh with or talk about the future.

Savour every moment.

Appreciate them in your journey.

How do you move on when your loved one is gone?

You can’t.

You have to get on with your life.

Doesn’t mean it’ll be easy.

Doesn’t mean you won’t cry randomly.

Or see things that remind you of them.

They can never leave you.

It’s your job to use their memory as a driver.

To continue to live.

To experience this precious thing we call life.

What a beautiful show.

Reminds me of how I felt after watching About Time and Past Lives.

Both exceptional movies.

This an amazing TV show.

Watch it.

You won’t regret it.
