Rejection sucks:

Rejection sucks.

It blows.

It stings.

It hurts.

Just when you think everything is going right, it strikes again.

You will face rejection all the time.

It’s a staple.

It’s a part of life.

No matter who you are or what you do, you will be rejected.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Rejection is the price of success.

It’s the price you must pay to get what you want.

Professionally, rejection means nothing to me.

Onto the next one.

Sent 200 job applications and cold emails before I got my job in VC.

199 people rejected me.

1 decided to take a chance.

Right now it’s hitting me with dating.

Been on several dates over the last few months.

Lots of first dates.

Had fun.

Enjoyed the conversation.

Text her soon after and the answer is.

‘I’m not feeling anything.

Let’s just be friends.’

I’ve gotten this a few times now.

It sucks.

It stings.

It hurts.

Am I doing something wrong?

Am I meeting the wrong people?

Not being myself?

Not putting my best foot forward?

I don’t know.

I do know this.

Rejection is for two people who were not supposed to be together.

Rejection is the universe telling you to move on.

It’s not worth waiting around for someone who doesn’t want to be with you.

Let them go.

Move on.

Get them out of your head.

All those fake plans you were making after meeting someone once, stop.

Take everything one day at a time.

In today’s day and age, you could have a great date with someone and they can move on for no reason.

For reasons totally out of your control.

You will never know why they don’t feel the same way about you as you do about them.

But that’s ok.

Move on.

Get over it.

Stop sulking.

Stop complaining.

Stop sitting there worrying about what they think.

They told you what they think.

They don’t like you.

If that’s the case, why should you feel any different about them?

It’s hard to move on.

Really hard.

Especially so quickly.

But you need to.

It’s not worth your time and headspace to think about what if.

Stop living in what if.

Live in what now.

Go find someone who wants to be with you for you.

Doesn’t mean it gets any easier.

But you have to move on.

Rejection sucks.
