You will fail a lot:

‍

You will fail a lot.

‍

To be successful, you must fail.

‍

A lot.

‍

For every success you have, you should have 100 failures.

‍

100 efforts that don’t work.

‍

100 attempts at trying hard.

‍

Through those efforts, you will learn valuable skills.

‍

Resilience.

‍

Perseverance.

‍

Toughness.

‍

You will also be criticized.

‍

If not publicly, definitely privately.

‍

Use that as fuel.

‍

Use that as a motivator.

‍

Show the people who don’t believe in you how great you can become.

‍

Talked to one of my best friends today who just got into an ophthalmology residency.

‍

An incredible achievement considering that’s one of the hardest specialties to get a job in the world of medicine.

‍

Yet this guy was known in university as the biggest slacker.

‍

The guy who ‘chilled’ a lot if you know what I mean.

‍

No one expected us to do what we’ve done.

‍

We use to leave parties to get away from everything just to chill.

‍

People thought we were losers.

‍

Now, look at us.

‍

Told him we are going to be the most successful out of our group of friends.

‍

He knows it and I know it.

‍

Why?

‍

He’s been on his journey.

‍

He’s failed.

‍

He tried to get in 3 times.

‍

3 years of attempts.

‍

Countless hours of grinding, working his butt off.

‍

All for the chance.

‍

And he did it.

‍

His hard work paid off.

‍

But he failed to get there.

‍

He had to learn the hard lessons.

‍

Where you’re on your own.

‍

Everyone around you doubts you.

‍

Your parents are disappointed in you.

‍

You’re in your head wanting to give up.

‍

But you have to keep going.

‍

You have to keep pushing.

‍

You have to keep believing in your dreams.

‍

No matter what anyone else says.

‍

Because the grind is worth it.

‍

If you work at it long enough, you’ll get there.

‍

But you have to fail a lot.

‍

If you want success, you want failure.

‍

It hardens you.

‍

You’ll learn it takes years.

‍

Every overnight success knows this.

‍

Success is built on the grind.

‍

There’s no easy way to the top.

‍

Even when you get there, you’ll get knocked down.

‍

Again and again.

‍

You’ll have many dark times.

‍

Alone.

‍

Where it’s you and your mind doubting you.

‍

No matter what, keep going.

‍

Keep believing in the dream.

‍

If you want success, just know…

‍

You will fail a lot.
