Your story will not be told unless you tell it:

Your story will not be told unless you tell it.

No one knows your story like you.

No one knows your struggle.

No one understands your failures as you do.

Even when you become successful, other people want to latch on and claim your success as theirs.

Sure they were a part of your story, but that’s it. They were one part.

If you let other people tell your story, they will.

And you won’t like it.

Just watched an ad for a Netflix documentary about Angele, some Belgian pop star. One part was about how a magazine used a photo she didn’t approve of.

The media controls your narrative unless you do.

You have to tell your story and don’t let anyone else take control of it.

At the beginning of the year when I wrote about the meme stock short squeeze and how the market was going to crash, I reached out to several reporters to get them to write a story.

I saw my name in big publications as the guy who told the world what was going to happen before it did.

None of them got back to me. Heck, I’m sure none of them even read my stuff.

But I never should have done that.

I need to own my story.

I need to tell it myself.

I can’t let some media corporation change the narrative and spin my words to make me look different than I am.

Reminds me of Tim Ferris and his dealings with the media.

Reporters never tell the story you want them to tell. They tell the story they or their editors want them to tell. They’re too concerned about what drives the most clicks and gets the most views.

My opinion of the mainstream media has gone down the drain.

Trump was right when he said the mainstream media is a bunch of garbage.

They’re just trying to spin a narrative that drives traffic. They’re a business just like anything else.

It’s why a lot of them are so upset with social media companies because they’re taking away their ad dollars.

TV corporations used to control the message. With that came a lot of money because if you were a business and wanted to be seen by a lot of people, you had to pay big bucks to get a commercial in prime time slots.

Now everyone’s so attached to their phones, which is why social media companies over the last decade have won.

Mainstream media was history; social media and independent creators are the future.

Now you can build an independent brand utilizing all these tools and get your message out to the world.

The best part is it’s your message. You get to say and create whatever you want.

Sure social media corporations still censor stuff like banning Trump but independents are winning.

Joe Rogan, Lex Friedman, Tim Ferris, Gary Vee, etc. These guys have created massive businesses just by being themselves online. Many independent news organizations are becoming more reputable than the mainstream media.

They’re telling their stories in their own way and are beating mainstream media.

More young people go to them for information than are watching TV.

This is why you have to own your own story.

Because you get to tell it the way you want.

We need more storytellers.

Tell your story and don’t worry about the negativity.

Stories are how humans have learnt throughout history and now you have the ability to broadcast yours to the world.

So own it.

Your story will not be told unless you tell it.
