Day 662 – Day 156 Quarantine – Aug.13.20 - Family drama

Family drama really brings it all out in people. You get to see the core of who someone is when their back is against the wall and they have to defend themselves. Because you know the source of every story you hear is biased as shit. To really understand the whole story, you have to listen to everyone’s perspective. Context matters. It really does. This is where miscommunication can happen so quickly because people don’t know the whole story. Get to the truth. Not your truth or someone else’s truth but the objective truth. Analyze all sides of the story and understand the context. Interesting to see how prideful people get and ultimately how much a fragile ego shapes a person. Everyone has deep insecurities about a lot of things but those who are not willing to admit their faults and understand how other people perceive them are going to run into a lot of problems in life. At the end of the day, making someone feel good just because you admit your mistakes is only going to make them respect you more. So swallow your pride.
