Be kinder to yourself:

Be kinder to yourself.

Be thankful you made it here.

As much as it feels like you’re screwing this whole thing up, give yourself some credit.

You did it.

You made that success happen.

Don’t get so hard on yourself.

Let your doubts and fears go.

Accept reality for what it is and do whatever you can to bend it in your favour.

It doesn’t mean you won’t get unlucky.

It doesn’t mean you won’t fail.

It doesn’t mean you won’t have setbacks.

All of those things are par for the course.

That’s how life works.

A mix of positive and negative experiences.

From birth to death.

You have to hope you had more positive than negative ones growing up because otherwise that messes you up for a long time.

People can’t let themselves relax as adults because of trauma experienced during childhood.

They’re always on edge.

The negative experiences they had as kids are central to their subconscious so they always see the world in terms of those experiences.

If they were attacked by a dog when they were young, they’ll grow up thinking all dogs are terrible.

And that stuff doesn’t just go away.

My dad told me and my siblings he was allergic to dogs growing up so we didn’t have to get one.

Then he told us the story of how he got attacked by a bulldog when he was a kid.

That’s always stayed with him.

For 40+ years of his life, he lived in fear of dogs because of one bad experience.

One experience can change your life forever, both positively and negatively.

You can see the entire world through one experience.

It’s very hard to shake that.

It takes a lot of self-work to accept your life for what it was and not what it has to be.

You have the power to change the way you think but it’s very scary.

It’s hard to confront fears, no matter how irrational they seem to other people.

Don’t take them so seriously.

Relax.

Let life happen as it does. Control what you can control but adapt to circumstances.

Everything can change very quickly.

Be grateful for the moments you’ve had.

The experiences that shaped you.

Both the good and the bad.

Because they got you to this moment.

You made it.

Give yourself some credit.

Be kinder to yourself.
