The allure of the unknown:

The allure of the unknown.

Wanting something you don’t have.

Coming up with ideas of it.

How great it is.

How amazing it could be.

What your future could be like.

Only you don’t have it.

The actions you’ve seen do not give you a good feeling.

You like the idea of it rather than the thing itself.

Meanwhile, there are a few other things you do have that are great.

Solid.

Secure.

Stable.

Good things.

Kind.

Care about you.

And yet, you can’t help.

Can’t help but look away.

Look to the next thing.

As if it will be better than what you have.

This is modern-day dating.

Always thinking there’s better.

There’s someone else out there.

Some pretty girl who’s going to solve all your problems.

When that doesn’t exist.

They won’t even see you.

Literally.

Dating apps are tough.

It’s rough out there.

I need to get out of this head space.

Get away from this chase.

This idea of the unknown.

Of what you think someone could be.

Just because they check a few boxes in your head.

Look at what someone has shown you.

Look at their actions.

Actions speak, words don’t.

Don’t you want that long-term?

If so, then commit.

Jump.

Decide.

Stop looking elsewhere thinking better will come along.

It might.

But it also might not.

You can’t keep searching forever.

When you see how good a person is in front of you, commit to it.

Decide.

Be with what’s known.

Stop chasing the allure of the unknown.
