Tips for weddings:

Tips for weddings.

I’ve been to a few weddings in my life.

More than a few.

A lot.

I danced at them for over a decade.

And it wasn’t once a year.

As you get older, you notice things.

What works well.

What doesn’t.

Here are my learnings.

Rule number 1 - the only things people care about are…

Food, music, alcohol.

Everything else is irrelevant.

Irrelevant.

Don’t screw those up.

People will walk away disappointed if you screw those up.

I’ve seen those epic nights.

When the DJ is on point, the alcohol is flowing and everyone has a had a great meal…

Man…

Those nights hit different.

It’s a blast.

An experience people don’t forget.

Give them that.

Today was bad.

My cousin’s wedding.

So much expectation.

So little follow-through.

Poorly planned.

Poorly executed.

Poorly thought out.

Left people dry.

Left people down.

Left people bored.

Weddings should never be like that.

Ever.

It’s a celebration.

Especially Indian weddings.

You should have energy at each of your events.

Especially when you do it big.

We had 750 people today.

That’s a lot.

Your job is to make sure they have a good time.

That’s the point.

Especially for Indian weddings.

It’s not about the people getting married.

It’s about the party.

If you show people a good time, they’ll remember it forever.

There are so many duds.

So many misses.

So many poorly planned.

Don’t be like that.

Get a good DJ.

Have good food.

Make sure there’s alcohol flowing.

Always.

Keep water at tables.

Anytime something finishes, it should be replaced.

Wine at the tables.

Bar always open.

People should always be able to drink.

Always.

That’s what weddings are about.

Don’t screw up the program.

Most are boring.

No one cares about your 15-minute speech.

No one.

Everyone came for one thing.

To eat, drink and party.

Weddings are about fun.

Memories together.

Bringing families together.

Put on a good wedding.

Put on a good show.

Keep the energy up.

Let the drinks flow.

Have a good DJ.

Then you’ll have a great wedding.

Enjoy those wedding tips :)
