You have to decide what you want out of life

You have to decide what you want out of life:

You have to decide what you want out of life.

Get after it.

No one else can choose it for you.

Everything will pull you in many directions.

Your family, your friends, your social media feeds, your environment, etc.

It’ll push you down a certain path.

But are you happy with that path?

Are you fulfilled?

Because most of us are not.

We’re lacking something.

We’re missing that spark in our eyes.

Why do we get up every morning?

What’s our purpose?

Most of us haven’t asked ourselves that question.

We haven’t taken the time.

Why?

We don’t have time, right?

We’re too busy, too many people pulling us in different directions, we’re stressed, etc.

All excuses.

Take a look at your phone usage and social media usage.

We all have the same amount of time.

But we don’t have people to look up to.

We don’t have people in our lives asking those questions.

We don’t see people in our environment being that self-reflective.

We’re not self-reflective enough as a society.

Why do we do what we do?

Why?

A fundamental question we learned in grade school.

Who? What? Where? When? How? And why?

Be curious.

Question everything.

All of it.

Because you’ve been told a lie.

Just like all of us have.

The world is not as simple as you think.

Your opinion is one amongst 7 billion.

You don’t matter.

Neither do I.

But we need to feel like we do.

We need to feel that we matter.

Guess what?

We don’t.

None of us.

Even those at the top who think they’re hot shit.

They’re here today, gone tomorrow.

Like we all are.

So enjoy it while it lasts.

Because the ride only goes on for so long.

Just know that you have more of an opportunity today than any other time in history to completely change the trajectory of your life.

How?

The Internet.

Spend a few years learning any specific skill that you like, commit a few hours a day, teach people about it and earn a living for the rest of your life.

But it will be hard.

It will be a struggle.

There will be other things that will want to take your time.

Block that out and decide what you want out of life.

We all have the same 24 hours.

We all have access to all the world’s information at our fingertips (although the Internet is heavily censored, that’s a topic for another day).

So decide.

What do you want?

How do you want to spend your time?

Wasting it away looking at people’s stories you met once 5 years ago? Or endlessly scrolling through Tik Tok letting the AI rewire your brain?

Enjoy that because your brain is slowly rotting.

Just like mine.

I’m not immune to any of this.

The brainwashing these social media companies have done is incredible.

Society has never been more distracted with more of an overload of information constantly delivered to us 25 hours a day, 8 days a week.

It makes us feel smarter yet dumber at the same time.

It sucks us back in whenever we’re bored.

Forcing us out of our time to think.

The most impactful people in history gave themselves time to think.

Literally.

Blocked in their calendar multiple hours during the week to just patter around.

Walk.

Sit.

Stare at a wall.

Einstein was famous for it.

Came up with the theory of relativity through a thought experiment.

The best in the world over the next few generations will do that.

They’ll spend time thinking and eliminating distractions.

They’ll be the movers and shapers.

The ones who look at the world, decide what they want out of life and get after it.

Think and Grow Rich changed it all for me.

That, meditating and journaling made me see the light.

It made me direct myself to a purpose.

It gave me direction.

Whether I accomplish my goals is not in my control, but the effort that it takes to get there is.

You have to decide what you want out of life.

Go get it.
