27:

27.

27 years around the sun.

27 years of accomplishments, failures and memories.

27 days where someone sings you happy birthday.

27 feels old yet young.

I’ve accomplished a lot, yet feel like I’ve done nothing.

I’ve lived more life experiences in my 27 years than people have in multiple lifetimes.

I’ve gotten so lucky.

But I’ve also worked hard.

So what do I want for my 27th year?

Consistency.

Discipline.

Continue to stay on this road of self-discovery and self-development.

Continue to write about what matters to you, whether people like it or not.

Stay patient.

25 and 26-year-old me was so confident.

So sure of the market crashing like I said it would.

It didn’t.

Good. Keep taking risk.

Have some humility.

27-year-old me needs to be patient.

Wait.

Why do you want to speed up time?

You can’t.

So enjoy the moments.

Really be present.

Make memories with those close to you.

Continue to invest time in your high-value relationships.

Stop chasing other people.

If they don’t want you, you don’t want them.

Show up for those who show up for you.

Take control of your time.

Don’t let other people use and abuse it.

Forget about status, money and nice things.

Don’t worry if people don’t like you or your ideas.

You can’t please everyone.

Continue to write your truth, whether people like it or not.

Continue to put your ideas out there, no matter how crazy they seem.

Keep reading, especially non-fiction.

Never stop learning about the world.

Stop spending as much time on your phone.

Stop making assumptions.

Be authentically you, no matter what situation you’re in.

Be honest.

Tell it like it is, whether people like it or not.

Slow down the alcohol and drugs.

Work out more.

Invest in your body, mind and health.

Don’t believe your own bullshit.

Get rid of your ego.

No matter how far you go, remember you’re not that special.

We’re all going to die one day so enjoy the journey.

Enjoy the process.

Enjoy the grind.

Enjoy the dark days.

You will fail spectacularly.

You may succeed.

No matter what, stay disciplined.

Stay focused.

Push your boundaries.

Always push your thinking.

So with that, here’s to another great year ahead.

Keep going, you’re doing great!
