Don’t drown your inner voice:

Don’t drown your inner voice.

It will be pushed away.

Talked down upon.

Not loved for a while.

Your parents will tell you not to pursue it.

Your peers will look down upon you.

You may be labeled an outcast.

Doesn’t matter.

Follow that inner voice.

Listen to that inner child.

That force that draws you to do something.

Compels you, even when the world is telling you no.

For some it’s art.

Others music.

Some writing.

Others dancing.

Some building business.

Others building a family.

Whatever it is, follow that voice.

The voice won’t be loud.

It will be soft.

Quiet.

In the background of your life just floating by.

But it will never leave.

Some of us choose to pursue that inner voice.

That gives us our purpose.

Others choose to let it go.

And lose themselves along the way.

Don’t be like that.

As hard as it will be to follow that voice, keep searching for it.

Nurture it.

Follow it.

Listen to it.

It will guide you in more ways than you can imagine.

Doesn’t mean the journey will be easy.

Doesn’t mean you won’t struggle.

Doesn’t mean the people around you won’t look down upon you.

But it does mean you can live an authentic life.

You get to live with purpose.

You get to live with direction.

You get to live on your terms.

That inner voice will be your guide.

It will be your therapist.

It will be your cheerleader.

It will always be there, especially when you need it most.

Listen to it.

Listen to your inner voice.

Let it float to the top and guide you on this journey we call life.
